Configuring and applying Library settings

After enrolling your mobile devices, you can configure them as needed. KACE Cloud allows you select devices and to apply configuration changes to them, or to create configuration changes in the Library.

Common configuration changes typically include:

  • Accounts: Email can be configured through an existing user account. See Managing email accounts.
  • Apps: KACE Cloud allows you to manage your organization's apps in the Library, and to deploy them to devices. See Managing apps and licenses.
  • Certificates: Administrators can view and manage security certificates, and to apply them to managed devices, as needed. See Managing certificates.
  • Labels: Labels allow a device administrator organize users and devices by tagging them with labels that can quickly be referenced using filters. See Using labels to group similar items.
  • Location rules: Location tracking lets administrators monitor and maintain their device inventory. See Configuring location tracking.
  • Option sets: Use option management to configure device settings that include system updates; location mode; screen message and timeout; time zone settings; proxy setup; wallpaper and more. Administrators can configure option sets for managed Android, macOS, tvOS, supervised iOS, and Windows devices. See Configuring device option sets.
  • Passcode Rules: Set up passcode defaults for managed iOS, Android Work, Android Fully Managed, Android Personal, and Windows devices. Passcodes can then be managed by editing rule sets in the library. See Managing passcode rules.
  • Patching: Update the software on managed Windows and macOS devices to their latest versions. Ensuring your managed devices are up to date helps improve their overall performance and protects them from potential vulnerabilities. See Patching Windows and macOS devices.
  • Scripting: Scripting allows you to automate tasks, enforce policies, and manage devices efficiently. See Managing and Running Scripts.
  • Restriction sets: Restriction management allows you to enable and disable settings that affect device functionality, security and privacy, internet, media, and more. See Managing restrictions.
  • Security: Manage FileVault, BitLocker, Defender, and firewall configurations on your managed devices. For more information, see the following sections:
  • Vendor profiles: Each supported OS has a unique configuration that makes up a device's profile. See Managing vendor profiles.
  • VPN:There are unique VPN setup processes for the supported device OS types. To configure VPN for an Android device, a third party VPN app is required. iOS VPN configuration can be established directly in KACE Cloud. See Managing VPN configurations .
  • Wi-Fi: New Wi-Fi configurations can be added in KACE Cloud, then applied directly to a device or devices. See Managing Wi-Fi configurations.
  • macOS Active Directory configuration: macOS Active Directory Profile Support increases security by allowing admins to give domain users full access to a FileVault-encrypted macOS device using bootstrap tokens. See Managing macOS Active Directory configurations.
  • Custom profiles: A KACE Cloud custom profile references one or more existing Windows policies and allows you to apply it to applicable Windows devices. You can, for example, enable Location services on a target device by creating a custom profile that makes use of a Windows policy, and then applying that profile to a desired device. See Applying custom profiles to Windows devices.
